High performance computing
High performance calculation became the field of my research in 2000.
Ph.D. thesis and master degree thesis as well were devoted to this
field.
Theme of Ph.D. thesis is "Technique of parallel programs debugging on
multi-computers (algorithms and debugger developing)".

Obtained results were presented and published in proceedings of the
following conferences: "Student in scientific and technical progress"
(Novosibirsk, 2001), International conference "TELEMATIKA"
(St.Pitersburg, 2001), Wide-Russian conference "TELEMATIKA"
(St.Pitersburg, 2003), Workshop on "High performance calculations on
clusters and cluster systems" (Nizhny Novgorod, 2002, 2003), Workshop
"High performance calculations on clusters" (Krasnoyarsk, 2001, 2002).
I'd like to highlight the following achievements in this field:
Linux cluster of 24 nodes were launched in Novosibirsk State University.
Two websites were developed for
attracting new users to work on the cluster and helping current users.
These sites are not supported now because of financing stopped.
More then a dozen programs were paralleled and adopted for the cluster
architecture (tomography, genetic, numerical analysis problems, etc.)
Prototype of parallel program debugger was developed. The debugger was
designed for debugging behavior of program. Read more
It was necessary to provide convenient way for cluster configuring and
support. First, network boot of nodes was implemented with root file
system (RFS) on master node. We used ClusterNFS to share the same
directory for different nodes. Later RFS was moved on RAM disks of
nodes.
Obtained experience on network boot of NSU Linux cluster was described
in the paper (in Russian).
